What varieties of lavender bloom and when?
We grow 12 different varieties on the farm.
When is harvest time?
Our lavender is harvested throughout the season depending on the variety. While we make every effort to keep at least one row available for guests to enjoy for photos and U-Pick, we also grow lavender as a working farm and must harvest each variety at its peak to ensure the highest quality for our products.
Because of this, bloom levels will vary throughout the season. Our final lavender varieties are typically harvested during the last week of June, marking the close of the harvest period.
This approach allows us to provide guests with a beautiful experience while also ensuring that every plant is harvested at the ideal time for maximum fragrance, color, and quality.
How long does it take lavender to dry after harvest?
Lavender is a beautiful flower on a delicate stem, consequently drying time does not take long. After the lavender is harvested and bundled, drying takes about 3 weeks. Please dry in a cool, well ventilated area out of direct sunlight for best optimization of the color.
Do you allow "you pick" of the flowers?
Lavender U-Pick dates will be every Saturday once the farm is open. Please watch our social media pages on Facebook and Instagram @lazyfoxlavenderfarm for more information. We are open rain or shine!
